Biofilm-associated infections, such as catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs), impose a substantial burden on healthcare systems, so the development of effective therapies is crucial. According to Future Market Insights, the global market for treating CAUTIs was valued at USD$83.2 billion in 2022 and is projected to reach USD$171.56 billion by 2033, with a steady CAGR of 6.8%. This presents a notable business opportunity for the development of innovative solutions aimed at preventing or treating CAUTIs.

助胰見-創新人工智慧胰臟癌輔助偵測系統PANCREASaver -Innovative Artificial Intelligence-assisted Detection Tool for Pancreatic Cancer-
CT is the major modality for detecting pancreatic cancer(PC), but early PCs are often obscure or even invisible tothe naked eye on CT, with approximately 40% of PCs smaller than 2 cm being missed on CT. Leveraging the latest advances in artificial intelligence, PANCREASaver is an in-novative end-to-end fully automatic computer-aided detection tool for PC.

可攜式各向同性定量差分相位對比顯微鏡系統Multifunctional Portable Quantitative Differential Phase Contrast Microscope
本技術透過光瞳工程,在影像的傅立葉平面放置數位光瞳,以提供樣本結構光照明。經推算系統的相位轉移方程式後,即可透過相機所擷取之光強度資訊回推樣本相位,實現相位回復。此定量相位資訊可以二維或三維相位圖呈現,而獲取的相位因可以轉換成樣本高度,得利用於各種病理與細胞研究。
透過將硬體更換為FPGA,其平行運算能力得以提升系統運算速度,再藉由自動化設計,使得光瞳顯示得以與相機擷取功能同步,縮短影像擷取時間以降低細胞環境隨時間造成的重建誤差,進一步提升系統準確度。

開發提升乳牛健康之新穎次世代益生菌組合
Development of novel next-generation probiotics for health promotion in dairy cattle
A one-year field trial in dairy farm is now on going. We will evaluate the effects on dairy cows’ health, milk performance, and reproduction. The calves they give birth will be also evaluated the health and growth performance. This will be the first novel next-generation probiotic product applying for dairy cow and calf for health promotion and improvement of growth/production performance.

臺大實驗林香杉精油與林下經濟產品開發成果
臺大實驗林-香杉精油(Cunninghamia konishii)取自臺大實驗林之人工林疏伐木,並由轄下木材利用實習工廠進行煉製,以蒸餾法對粉碎的香杉樹木材部進行萃取。經GC-MS分析鑑定本香杉精油成分以倍半萜類含氧化合物雪松醇-Cedrol (53.03%)為主,以單萜類含氧化合物(α-Terpineol)、(α-Pinene)及倍半萜類化合物-香柏醇(α-Cedrene)次之。香杉精油抗蟎活性之研究時表示Cedrol 對於抑制木材腐朽菌有不錯的效果,α-Cedrene對熱帶無爪塵蟎具有良好的抗蟎活性,Thujopsene成分,它具有良好的防腐劑、鎮靜、殺蟲及抗真菌活性,此成分除了可做為開發植物性藥劑(Botanical drugs)的潛能之外,亦可提供人們健康的生活環境。
